New York State Child Support Program Launches Redesigned Website Featuring Online Enrollment

New Yorkers Seeking Child Support Services Can Now Enroll and Submit Supporting Documentation Online

The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance today announced the launch of a new online enrollment form for child support services as part of the Child Support Program's recently redesigned website, childsupport.ny.gov. The new site has a more intuitive and easier to navigate design, allowing individuals to enroll for child support services online and providing existing users access to more information about their case.

“Child support is a vital source of income for hundreds of thousands of children and families in New York and is often a key component in keeping families with children from experiencing poverty,” said Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Commissioner Barbara C. Guinn. “The new online enrollment form and redesigned website make it easier than ever for parents to access these vital services while expanding the range of information available to them about their individual cases.”

New Yorkers can now enroll online for child support services using their phone, tablet, or computer. Additionally, the website enables those paying or receiving child support to easily review the dates and amounts of payments, access account statements, and message their local child support office.

New York State's Child Support Program provides parents with assistance in obtaining financial support and medical insurance coverage for their children by locating parents, establishing paternity, establishing and modifying support orders, and collecting and distributing child support payments. The program serves nearly 536,000 children, collecting more than $1.67 billion annually on their behalf.

The Child Support Program is overseen by the Division of Child Support Services within the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and administered by local departments of social services in New York State's 57 counties, as well as New York City.
