June 13, 2023, 11:00 a.m.: Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council (CPRAC) Housing Committee Meeting

The first meeting of New York State's Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council's Housing Policy Committee will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, via Webex.

Summary: Together with the Governor's Office of the State of New York, the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) is co-chairing and helping to facilitate meetings of the Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council (CPRAC), pursuant to the Child Poverty Reduction Act. The Council's responsibilities include:

  • providing analyses of child poverty in New York
  • making policy recommendations for reducing child poverty by 50 percent over ten years
  • measuring and reporting on progress towards that goal

The Council includes a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from across government, advocacy organizations, not-for-profits that focus on poverty issues, individuals directly impacted by poverty, Regional Economic Development Councils, and more.

To organize its work, the Council has formed committees based on subject-area, to meet independently from CPRAC's statutory members. Through these smaller, more focused group discussions, which include additional advisory experts, committees will help develop recommendations in each policy area based on the evidence-based research CPRAC has presented.

The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance will provide a Webex of this meeting in real time on June 13, 2023.
