The sixteenth meeting of New York State's Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, via Zoom.
Summary: The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), in partnership with the Governor's Office of the State of New York, is convening the Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council (CPRAC), pursuant to the Child Poverty Reduction Act, signed into law by Governor Kathy Hochul. The Council's responsibilities include:
- providing analyses of child poverty in New York,
- making policy recommendations for reducing child poverty by 50 percent over ten years,
- measuring and reporting on progress towards that goal
The Council includes a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from across government, advocacy organizations, not-for-profits that focus on poverty issues, individuals directly impacted by poverty, Regional Economic Development Councils, and more.
