OTDA Home Programs & Services Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Information for Schools and Providers New Summer EBT Food Benefits Card
You will need to apply for the 2025 Summer EBT Benefit.
Your child is likely eligible for Summer EBT, but you will need to apply to receive the benefit this year. Your child may have been automatically enrolled last year, but new regulations now require you to apply to determine eligibility.
The easiest way to apply is online at SummerEBT.ny.gov. You can also print a paper application from our website, complete it, and mail it to us. If you need an application mailed to you to complete, you can call our Summer EBT Customer Service Helpline at 1-833-452-0096.
Applying for Summer EBT benefits is simple. You will need each child's name, date of birth, and school name, as well as information on each member of your household, including income information for each person.
Summer EBT is a food benefit program that helps families buy food during the summer when school is not in session. Each eligible child will receive a one-time Summer EBT benefit payment of $120, which you can use to buy food at grocery stores, farmers' markets, and other SNAP-authorized retailers.
Receiving Summer EBT will not affect children's or families' immigration status.
In addition to Summer EBT, children 18 years of age and younger in your household can also receive free meals during the summer at a summer meal site. You can call 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE to find the location closest to you.
