Federal Government Shutdown

Programs overseen by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance – including Public Assistance and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – are not immediately affected by the federal government shutdown and are continuing to operate. Benefits will continue to be provided, and use of benefit cards are not impacted by the shutdown. Additionally, applications for these programs overseen by OTDA will continue to be accepted at this time. This message will be updated if additional information becomes available.

Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (R-GRTA) Transportation Program 2007-2008

Appropriation Level: $2,000,000

R-GRTA has established a highly efficient and effective cooperative with the Departments of Social Services in seven member counties. This program provides eligible individuals with a monthly bus pass to cover the transportation costs associated with employment, or participation in work related activities. In addition, R-GRTA will support the transportation cost of TANF eligible individuals in Wayne County who use the WATS Demand Response Bus Service.
